Bruce Conybeare

Bruce Conybeare is the firm’s founder. With over 40 years of experience as an attorney, Bruce is no longer actively practicing law, but he remains of counsel to the firm, sharing his wisdom and experience.

Bruce was admitted to the Michigan bar in 1964 after graduating from Western Michigan University (B.S. 1961) and the University of Michigan School of Law (J.D. 1964). He served as an Associate Municipal Judge, City of Benton Harbor (1965-1968).

Bruce’s past and present professional affiliations include membership in the Berrien County Bar Association (President 2000-2001); State Bar of Michigan; Michigan Association for Justice; Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission, Attorney Discipline Board; Federal Bar Association (sustaining member); American Bar Association; American Association for Justice (charter life fellow); and American Board of Trial Advocates (emeritus advocate, President Michigan Chapter 2002, National Board representative 2001-2002).

Bruce has attained a peer-review rating of “AV” for highest professional ability and ethical standards by Martindale-Hubbell, the national directory of lawyers.

Active in civic and community affairs, Bruce has served as past president of the Berrien County Cancer Society and remains active in the Alpha Tau fraternity. Bruce also supports a number of charitable organizations, including Lory’s Place, a Southwest Michigan hospice.

In his retirement, Bruce enjoys reading, tennis and golf, Michigan sports, travel, and spending time with his five adult children and 19 grandchildren.
