Tim Kragt was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1973. He is a 1969 graduate of Hope College, and earned a law degree, with honors, at Wayne State University. For the past 35 years, Tim has focused his personal injury practice in the areas of worker’s compensation and Social Security disability claims. Tim has a peer review rating of "AV" for highest professional ability by Martindale-Hubbell and in 2008 was named a Michigan Super Lawyer.

A founding member of the Smit & Kragt law firm, Tim’s professional affiliations over the years have included the Berrien County Bar Association; State Bar of Michigan; Michigan Association for Justice; Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission; Federal Bar Association; and American Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in all Michigan courts as well as the federal courts in the Western District of Michigan and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Tim has presented numerous seminars for the Institute of Continuing Education and labor organizations in the areas of worker’s compensation and Social Security disability. In 2009, after 35 years of practice, Tim and his partner, Len Smit, merged their law firm with Conybeare Law Office.

Tim is active in civic and community affairs, having served on the Board of Directors and as President of the St. Joseph/Benton Harbor YMCA. He is a life member of the NAACP and has been a member of the St. Joseph Elks Club, the Exchange Club, Boy Scouts of American Committeeman and Merit Badge Counselor, as well as being a youth mentor in the Y Uncle program.

With the Smit & Kragt merger into Conybeare Law Office, Tim enjoys both retirement and serving "Of Counsel" with the law firm. Tim and his wife, Linda, enjoy reading, travel, photography, golf and spending time with their two children and six grandchildren.
